our team of seven landed in istanbul, turkey at 4am tuesday morning.
we passed over the bridge that marks the place where europe and asia meet. thousands of clay colored roofs on every side. a massive city with a massive history.
and these are the words that came to mind as i processed the city’s enormity….
the bigness of a city or a country’s pain does not make one person’s story less significant, but rather, it is a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the infinite value that is held within each being.
because God is big enough to love enough.
we wonder about life on other planets while failing to simply acknowledge the thousands of worlds that surround us. each individual mind another atmosphere filled with wonder and personality and soul. each a world of its own teeming with life. thoughts like breathing things wander pursuing safety, logic, reason, and hope. remember not to loose the planets for the galaxies.
may we never forsake our belief in significance, for when we make any human life, including our own, inconsequential, we limit the very love of our infinite God.
